Produttivitá (pro-doot-tiv-E-a) – Productivity

Alright people, its not in today's post but we are officially in OLYMPICS WEEK!!!
...just showing Team USA some international love...
….today was another just plain day….not really terribly exciting in the idea of adventures but I did get a lot accomplished!...first step of the day was to actually go to sleep….which of course wasn’t until 4 am when the Seahawks won the SUPERBOWL!!! Kudos….but then it was up 3 hours later to shower and get ready for class…lets just say, the struggle was real this morning…and there was no cappuccino, just straight espressos J…..
….class was good, uneventful, just some more verbs that have 47 different forms and don’t follow any sort of common rules….and then we moved onto prepositions and my teacher literally said, “there is no explaination for why these are what they are, you just have to memorize what I say and remember that”…..uuuhhhhh excuse me?...so that is the latest and greatest challenge in the realm of learning the foreign language called Italiano….
…but after class it was time for another orientation for my new life in Italy….my intership J…I don’t know if I have mentioned it on the blog yet or not, but all the USAC students have been given the opportunity to volunteer or intern for credit, at one of the 2 bilingual elementary schools or kindergartens in the area…and well I thought that an international internship, teaching English in Italy, was a pretty cool thing to have on a resume so I jumped at the chance…
…today the 5 or so of us who will be working at the kindergarten, went with our coordinator, Simona for our orientation….she showed us how to get there via metro and then bus…its kinda a long ways from home, and confusing so this shall be an adventure for how to get back there for work tomorrow morning….but oh well, once we got the school, we met up with the head teacher (who happens to be American, which is really cool) and she kinda told us what to expect and what was expected of us…its funny, it was the first time since getting to Italy that someone has asked me to refrain from speaking Italian and to please ONLY speak English….I am so excited to start working and learning with the kids!...
…since I don’t have class on Tuesdays, I will be working at the school every Tuesday
From 9 am to 4 pm….we will see tomorrow how that goes and what I think of it when I actually get through it all tomorrow…..but I am pretty excited, it sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun….
….that outing today took much longer than I was expecting, but I was still able to get home and write a short paper for my culture class, some Italian homework (that should probably should also study), communicate with the creator and order a valentines day gift, work on some more transportation bookings, skype my bestest friend in the whole world, Ryan AND my mom tonight!!....I cant believe that she and my dad will be here in 9 sleeps!! That is so ridiculous!!!

….Id say that overall it may not have been the most adventurous or exhilarating day but I got a lot accomplished and am well ready for bed J….tomorrow I am sure that there will be some good stories from the kindergarten J….until then, buona notte tutto!
Just in case you need a smile today...this is Giancarlo (my friend from Chico)
6 foot something, sitting in a kindergarteners' chair....
...certianly made me laugh...
